“Very Discreet And Secure. Highly Recommended.”
I want to share a better way to live with a catheter. When my Doctor told me of a 4 week recovery with a catheter after surgery.
I knew I had to find a better way to deal with the thin elastic straps that come with a standard leg bag. I’ve used a Freedom Belt for 2 weeks. Zero fear of the leg bag sliding down my leg, pulling on my catheter. No worries about readjusting before sitting because the bag rotated to either side of my leg. The bag stays put.
No matter what I do or where I go. Standing, bending, sitting, walking, driving. Worn under my pants or long shorts. Very discrete and secure. Highly recommended.

“It Was Very Helpful To Me”
Again, specific to your product, please know that it was very helpful to me, and although at first I had concerns about switching back and forth between a leg bag and an overnight bag every day, the much greater freedom of movement and feelings of security with the leg bag – supported by your perfectly designed belt – won me over, and made the entire process less cumbersome and uncomfortable than would otherwise have been the case.
Thank you very much for your fine product, and for your concerns and caring.

“This Belt Can Mean The Difference Between Life And Death For Some Patients.”
As a diagnostic radiologist for more than 20 years with interventional radiology being a large part of my practice I can appreciate the need for the Freedom Belt. Up until now there has been absolutely no product out there to help these patients which have had nephrostomy tubes, biliary drainage tubes, abscess drainage tubes , pleural drainage tubes , chest tubes etc.
Before the Freedom Belt these patients were limited as to what very minor activities they could partake in given the risk of accidental removal of the drainage catheter. Innumerable calls from patients in distress and unnecessary emergency trips to the ER can now be avoided (with concomitant savings of healthcare dollars).
Not only is it a factor of convenience, but this belt mean the difference between life and death for some patients. A patient with a chest tube which has been pulled accidentally can die or a collapsed lung. A patient in renal failure can die of electrolyte disturbance, and so on. In addition accidental inappropriate removal of indwelling catheters can lead to bleeding and even death, let alone infection from foreign bodies that can stay behind from catheter fragments . The cost or reinserting a pulled catheter is huge and it is sometimes more difficult to reinsert a catheter in a partially decompressed system.

“Patients Will Have A More Comfortable, Convenient And Discreet Way To Manage Their Treatment.”
After seeing the Freedom Belt, I am happy to know that these patients will have a more comfortable, convenient and discreet way to manage their treatment. The design and simplicity of the product is excellent. It is the only product engineered specifically to help patients with percutaneous drainage catheters. I will recommend it to any patient who requires a drainage bag. Whether for a few days or a few weeks, many patients will enjoy a life closer to normal with the Freedom Belt.

“Patients Are Finally Able To Wear A Truly Comfortable, Secure Medical Device”
Finally a product that is designed for patients and it works.
Patients with nephrostomy tubes, abscess drains, biliary drains live with jerry rigged bags and straps that are so uncomfortable and have a big impact on their quality of life. The Freedom Belt is absolutely revolutionary for the care of these patients.
It is really the first product on the market that protects the catheters from dislodging or falling out completely. The added bonus and most important benefit is that the patients are finally able to wear a truly comfortable and secure medical device. The Freedom Belt saves patients from multiple procedures, complications, and huge healthcare costs. This product is truly design for patient care.

“I Am Happy That Someone Took The Time To Think About The Patient And How To Make Their Life A Little More Comfortable During An Uncomfortable Time.”
I have worked in the Interventional Radiology section of the hospital for over 8 years. Throughout these years I have seen many patients that have required the placement of nephrostomy tubes, chest tubes, biliary drains, abscess drains, and other various tubes/drains that may be necessary. Of these patients, there are many who need to keep these tubes in for a substantial amount of time upon discharge from the hospital. These tubes are connected to drainage bags that essentially hang from or strap to the leg by means of a flimsy strap made of Velcro. Not only does the strap get dirty and is difficult to use but these patients run the risk of having their tubes yanked out because the drainage bag is dangling from the body and may get snagged.
Once I saw what the Freedom Belt could do for these patients I felt that this product could really help these patients in more ways than one. Not only would the drainage bag be secure and strapped safely to the patients body but the bags can lay comfortably underneath the patients clothing keeping them safe from embarrassment.
I also found that the option to choose a color is a great idea. It gives the patient a chance to choose something in a situation where they may feel like they have limited options.
I have seen many patients that have come into the department who have made their own contraption to strap their drainage bags to their own body. People can be very creative when it comes out of necessity and that is why the Freedom Belt would be so beneficial. Patients would not have to think up a solution to their medical situation because it would be provided. I am happy that someone took the time to think about the patient and how to make their life a little more comfortable during an uncomfortable time.

“This Will Improve The Care Of Drainage Procedure Patients.”
Having worked in the area of Interventional Radiology for over 20 years it has come to my attention that one of the most difficult aspects of our practice is the management of drainage catheters. The catheter is typically placed with great precision and sometimes risk to the patient via ultrasound or computer tomography. Once place it is critical that the catheter stay place in order to treat the affected ailment. In most cases the catheter is removed within a couple of weeks of placement but in some cases requires long term treatment. The drainage catheter is typically attached to a drainage bag. This bag is currently pinned to a garment or velcroed to an extremity. When the bag fills with some form of fluid the weight typically overwhelms the current attachment device. This becomes burdensome to the patient which can result in displacement of the catheter.
The Freedom belt provides a simple but organized method for drainage bag management. It is essentially a utility belt for management of all drainage procedures. Allow a patient to care for his drainage bags while having the freedom of movement. This will improve the care of drainage procedure patients.

“The Freedom Belt technology simply makes people’s lives better and more comfortable.”
“As the CEO of a medical device company and incubator, I have the opportunity to see a lot of new technologies come through my door.
One thing we try and do as innovators is swap places with the patient and view their conditions from their eyes.
I think the Freedom Belt technology simply makes people’s lives better and more comfortable.
There has been no innovation or temporary fluid drainage solutions put forward and there is a huge patient base that can benefit from simply organizing and securing drainage bags.
The current drainage technologies are cumbersome, uncomfortable and not patient friendly.
Freedom Belt is an elegant solution to allow patients to perform everyday activities and lead normal lives while undergoing treatment.”

“The Freedom Belt…Allowing The Patient To Move Better…”
“As medical device innovators, we often see true patient benefits from very simple ideas. The Freedom Belt is elegant in its simplicity, allowing the patient to move better and providing organization to the cumbersome cluster of tubes and bags. We often speak of the three “F’s” – form, fit and function and this technology nicely provides all three to temporary drainage patients.”
